Richard Avedon’s magnificent photographic essay In the American West. 1985. (First edition). Small folio. Cloth with illustrations affixed to front and rear panels. Fine in fine original acetate dustjacket. This copy has been boldly signed and dated by photographer Richard Avedon. A spectacular copy of a great book. Scarce in the first edition, especially when signed.

As reviewed by Library Journal, “Here, Avedon abandons fashion photography in favor of this collection of “strong, occasionally shocking portraits…of miners, drifters, wildcatters, slaughterhouse workers, and adolescents.”
