Hank Porter
Hank Porter
Hank Porter-signed Disney Secretarial - c1940
Bold Walt Disney sentiment signed by Hank Porter, one of two artists authorized to replicate Walt’s signature. Commonly confused for Disney’s actual autograph, Hank was known for, among other indicators, making a trident looking “Y” (as seen in ours), while Walt’s “Y” was more flamboyant. Still, this is a beautiful artifact of historic Disneyana and worthy of any collection.
Hank Porter was a staff artist of the Publicity Art Department from 1936 to 1950. He is the artist of the Sunday pages with the movie characters ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ and ‘Pinocchio’. ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ appeared in the Sunday pages of the American newspapers from 12 December 1937 to 24 April 1938.
