Over a lifetime of 76 years, Albert Einstein likely signed thousands of letters, cards, documents, photographs, and anything else that found its way beneath his busy pen. And like many people with great demands on their time, Einstein eventually relied on a facsimile signature to handle such tasks as form letters used in large fundraising efforts, as well as follow-up notes of appreciation to large groups of donors.
